Asana

Sending ideas to Asana from ProdPad is easy with a Zapier integration!

You will need:

  • An Asana account
  • A Zapier account
  • A ProdPad account

Step 1: Select your Trigger

To get this going, we will select the trigger from ProdPad as "Pushed Idea" from the available triggers in Zapier.

To ensure you have the right data, run a quick sample check. Be sure to update a request prior to running this check.

Step 2: Set up mapping to Asana

Now it's time to customize how the information will be sent from ProdPad into Asana. Begin by selecting how items will be created once they reach Asana - in this case, we're creating tasks.

Now select the details for the Asana project, including Workspace name, project name, and section.

We recommend that you set the task progress to "Not started" so your team knows which items need to be picked up from ProdPad.

For the "Name" field, select the Idea name.

Under Notes, select the ProdPad fields that you wish to send over. These could include:

  • Description
  • Business case
  • Functional Specs
  • Notes
  • Files
  • Attachments
  • Designs
  • Impact/Effort
  • Personas
  • ProdPad Idea URL

A variety of options are available depending on the level of information you wish to make available for your team in Asana.

Pushing to Asana via Zapier

When you are ready to push, go to the idea and select "Push to development." You will find Zapier available as an option.

Go to the idea and select Push to development

The idea information will now be passed to the task as a comment (story) with all the relevant information!
