Resilience & Redundancy

Redundancy

The database uses AWS Relational Database Service (“RDS”) Multi-Availability Zone (“Multi-AZ”) to provide hot standby with automatic failover.

The application and event servers are arranged into clusters that provide resilience and redundancy in case of server failure and traffic changes.

Backups

All data stores are continuously backed up with different frequencies, Recovery Time and Recovery Point Objectives. Some also feature point-in-time recovery. Backups are stored for 30 days.

Recovery

We use Terraform and Chef to automate the management of our infrastructure and servers allowing us to re-establish ProdPad in a new AWS Region within 4 hours of recovery being started, should EU Ireland be rendered unavailable for an extended period.

Business Continuity and Risk Assessment

We have policies in place to ensure that we continue to support our clients if something unexpected happens.  Our Disaster Recovery policy outlines the steps to be taken for any event that could likely cause an extended delay of service.

Regular Risk Management meetings are held with senior managers representing all areas of the organization. All participants are able to flag risks or potential risks, allowing for an analysis to take place, and for any mitigating actions to be identified and required actions assigned. 

CreateShift Ltd is a remote-first company allowing us to continue to operate even if team members can’t be in the office for some reason such as during a pandemic. Our team members are cross-trained in different jobs to ensure resilience should a team member be unavailable for some reason.
